Procedure Overview

What is Scar Revision?

Scar revision is designed to improve scars that create either a functional problem or a cosmetic concern.

Whether you are looking to refine your nasal tip, reduce a dorsal hump, correct asymmetry, or improve airflow, Dr. Karan Shetty tailors each surgery to your specific anatomy and aesthetic goals - using advanced 3D imaging (Crisalix) to help you visualise outcomes before the first incision is made.

Step 1 of 5 Scar Assessment
Recovery Journey

Post-Op Expectations

For laser scar revision, Tara's newer content describes redness, swelling or mild crusting for several days, with follow-up sessions potentially spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

Day 1–3
Immediate Recovery

Rest at home with your head elevated. Swelling and bruising are at their peak - this is completely normal.

Days 7–10
Return to Work

Splint and most sutures are removed. Most patients return to desk-based work and social activities by day 10.

2 Weeks
Resume Light Activity

Light walking is encouraged. Avoid strenuous exercise, swimming, and direct sun exposure to the nose.

4–6 Weeks
Visible Improvement

Majority of swelling has resolved. The new shape is clearly visible and continues to refine.

6–12 Months
Final Results

Residual swelling - especially at the tip - fully resolves. Your final result is fully visible.

What to Avoid
  • Strenuous exercise for at least 2 weeks
  • Swimming and saunas for 4 weeks
  • Wearing glasses that rest on your nose (4-6 weeks)
  • Direct sun exposure to the nose
  • Smoking before and after surgery
Aftercare Support
  • Regular follow-up appointments included
  • 24/7 post-op nursing helpline access
  • Written recovery guide provided on discharge

Frequently Asked Questions

Find Answers to
Your Questions

Still have questions? Below are the most common queries. If yours isn't here, our coordinators are a message away.

Is Rhinoplasty safe?
Performed by a board-certified surgeon in an accredited theatre, rhinoplasty is a safe, well-established procedure with a low complication rate.
What is the best age for rhinoplasty?
Generally 18 and above, once the nose is fully developed. Functional corrections may be considered earlier on clinical advice.
How much does the surgery cost?
Cost depends on whether it is primary or revision, and the techniques required. You'll receive a clear, itemised quote after consultation.
How long is the recovery?
Most patients return to desk work within a week. Residual swelling settles over 4–6 weeks, with final results over a few months.
Will there be visible scars?
Incisions are hidden inside the nostrils (closed) or along the columella (open) and heal to be virtually invisible.
Can rhinoplasty fix breathing issues?
Yes — functional rhinoplasty corrects a deviated septum and airway obstruction alongside any cosmetic refinement.
How long until I see final results?
You'll see major improvement within 2 weeks; the final refined shape emerges gradually over the following months.
