What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty - commonly known as a "nose job" - is a surgical procedure that reshapes the nose to improve its proportions in relation to the rest of the face. At Tara Healthcare, rhinoplasty addresses both cosmetic concerns and functional issues such as a deviated septum that causes breathing difficulties.
Whether you are looking to refine your nasal tip, reduce a dorsal hump, correct asymmetry, or improve airflow, Dr. Karan Shetty tailors each surgery to your specific anatomy and aesthetic goals - using advanced 3D imaging (Crisalix) to help you visualise outcomes before the first incision is made.

Step-by-Step Guide
01 Anaesthesia
General anaesthesia is administered by our experienced anaesthetist, ensuring you are completely comfortable and pain-free throughout the procedure.
02 Incisions
Small, precise incisions are made — typically hidden inside the nostrils (closed) or across the columella (open) approach.
03 Reshaping the Structure
Bone and cartilage are carefully refined, reduced or augmented to achieve the shape agreed during planning.
04 Closing Incisions
Incisions are closed with fine sutures, and the newly shaped framework is secured in place.
05 Splint & Recovery
A lightweight splint supports the nose while it heals. Most of it is removed within one week.
Every rhinoplasty at Tara Healthcare follows a precise, evidence-based surgical pathway designed for safety and natural results.
Post-Op Expectations
Rhinoplasty recovery is gradual and well-structured. Here is what to expect at each stage.
Rest at home with your head elevated. Swelling and bruising are at their peak - this is completely normal.
Splint and most sutures are removed. Most patients return to desk-based work and social activities by day 10.
Light walking is encouraged. Avoid strenuous exercise, swimming, and direct sun exposure to the nose.
Majority of swelling has resolved. The new shape is clearly visible and continues to refine.
Residual swelling - especially at the tip - fully resolves. Your final result is fully visible.
- Strenuous exercise for at least 2 weeks
- Swimming and saunas for 4 weeks
- Wearing glasses that rest on your nose (4-6 weeks)
- Direct sun exposure to the nose
- Smoking before and after surgery
- Regular follow-up appointments included
- 24/7 post-op nursing helpline access
- Written recovery guide provided on discharge
- Crisalix result tracking at follow-up visits
- Scar care and massage guidance from week 2
