PROCEDURE OVERVIEW

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure used to increase breast size, improve breast symmetry and restore fullness.

At Tara Healthcare, breast augmentation can help women who feel their breasts are naturally small or who have experienced loss of breast volume following pregnancy, breastfeeding or weight loss. Silicone or saline-filled implants are placed to create the desired shape and volume.

Recovery Journey

Post-Op Expectations

First 48 Hours Mild discomfort and chest tightness may occur and can generally be managed with prescribed medication. Week 1 Swelling begins to settle. Most patients can return to desk-based work, depending on recovery. Bruising reduces and the implants gradually begin to settle. Around 6 Weeks Most restrictions are lifted, although heavy chest exercises may still require additional caution. The breasts continue to soften and settle, with the final appearance becoming more apparent.

Weeks 2
4

Rest at home with your head elevated. Swelling and bruising are at their peak - this is completely normal.

3
6 Months

Splint and most sutures are removed. Most patients return to desk-based work and social activities by day 10.

2 Weeks
Resume Light Activity

Light walking is encouraged. Avoid strenuous exercise, swimming, and direct sun exposure to the nose.

4–6 Weeks
Visible Improvement

Majority of swelling has resolved. The new shape is clearly visible and continues to refine.

Your Questions

Still have questions? Below are the most common queries. If yours isn't here, our coordinators are a message away.

Is Rhinoplasty safe?
Performed by a board-certified surgeon in an accredited theatre, rhinoplasty is a safe, well-established procedure with a low complication rate.
What is the best age for rhinoplasty?
Generally 18 and above, once the nose is fully developed. Functional corrections may be considered earlier on clinical advice.
How much does the surgery cost?
Cost depends on whether it is primary or revision, and the techniques required. You'll receive a clear, itemised quote after consultation.
How long is the recovery?
Most patients return to desk work within a week. Residual swelling settles over 4–6 weeks, with final results over a few months.
Will there be visible scars?
Incisions are hidden inside the nostrils (closed) or along the columella (open) and heal to be virtually invisible.
Can rhinoplasty fix breathing issues?
Yes — functional rhinoplasty corrects a deviated septum and airway obstruction alongside any cosmetic refinement.
How long until I see final results?
You'll see major improvement within 2 weeks; the final refined shape emerges gradually over the following months.
