What should I expect during breast reduction procedure?

There are  different ways to do a breast reduction. Dr. Shetty will decide which is the most appropriate for you depending on the size of your breasts and the outcome that you desire.

The surgery will be done under general anaesthesia. Marking will be done pre surgery in conjunction with the patient. There are two most common types of incisions that used for breast reduction. An  inverted T reduction results in an anchor-shaped scar starting around the areola, travelling vertically down and then horizontally across the breast crease. Vertical pattern breast reduction results in a circular scar around the areola, and a vertical scar passing down the breast. Excess skin and breast tissue are removed during the procedure. The remaining breast tissue is reshaped to create smaller and perkier breasts.
